I was just reminiscing about getting change back from my Dollar when I purchased a McDonald's Big Mac, Fries, and a Coke. And I still remember the 18 cent hamburgers I could buy from the very first McDonald's that opened up near us. Who among us can remember prices like these?

Yep, they only had the hamburger and cheeseburger (and perhaps the double cheeseburger) when I saw my first McDonalds. My guess is that the Big Mac came around about 7-8 years after that.

Now that you mention it, I remember before there was no double cheesburger!

We didn’t have a Macdonalds near us TIL about ‘76 or ‘77.
Remember when 'hippie' meant big in the hips,
And 'a trip' involved travel in cars, planes, and ships?
When 'pot' was a vessel for cooking things in,
And 'hooked' was what grandmother's rug may have been?
When 'fix' was a verb that meant mend or repair,
And be 'in' meant merely existing somewhere?
When 'neat'meant well-organized, tidy and clean,
And 'grass' was a ground cover, normally green?
When 'groovy' meant furrowed with channels and hollows,
And 'birds' were winged creatures like robins and swallows?
When 'fuzz' was a substance, real fluffy like lint,
And 'bread' came from bakeries..and not from the mint?
When 'roll' meant a bun, and 'rock' was a stone,
And 'hang-up' was something you did with the phone?
It's, groovy, man, groovy, but English it's not, Methinks that our language is going to pot....

I remember when the Big Mac came out. Me and my dad went to get them. They had a paper band around them to keep them straight. Must have been late 60's maybe

McD was too far. Burger King was closer - only 5 miles.
However, I remember my first Whopper Burgers -1968. And some days, I think I'm still trying to digest them.
Had a Rifle team match after school. The hamburger joint across from the High School was always too crowded with kids hanging out after school. Billie, the team captain, being a senor he had a car and he loved the new Burger King, so we drove there to get something to eat. Billie was a big guy and ordered two whopper burgers. Stupidly, so did it I. Being hungry teenagers we wolfed down the food, then headed back to the High School. About the time it was my turn to shoot, my stomach started it's turn. Shooting in prone, with a stomach full of greasy hamburger, was an adventure trying to keep the front sight on the target.

"Cool" used to refer to temperature.
In the roaring twenties, having "It" was a magnetic personality trait.
A twenty five cent bag of potato chips is now three dollars.

Thanks folks for making me feel young
I lived on fast food for years and will admit I have never had a Big Mac. It was cheeseburgers and bacon cheeseburgers for me. No mayo, no tomato, no nothing else. Green stuff is for rabbits
