No it was a septic service/ construction truck. There is a 9’ utility bed on it. I use it as my Hvac service truck. Yes I was amazed at the dust too.

Got up with the new Lab Puppy around 5am. Coal Chubby is humming along since around 9pm last night. Had a cup off coffee and played with the puppy awhile. She's starting to house break which is nice. She went outside and experienced her first snowfall this morning, she loves it. Wife got up and made eggs sausage and english muffins with homemade jam while I tended the Chubby. off to Mass. Making a 19lb turkey today and picked up a 33lb bird from a friend for Thanksgiving. Coffee is great! it's nice and warm in here with the good company and all the coal heat. Bless You All! and, Happy Thanksgiving!

Late check-in for me. My wife was on a business trip in China all week, so it was just me, the boys, the dogs, and the chickens. Everyone is still alive and well, but the house kind of looks like a frat house. Andrea rolled in last night and slept until noon, but things are starting to get back to normal. She called during the week and said there was no good beer or coffee in China, so I make sure there was plenty of both when she got home. We have a keg of Green State Lager on tap and a big bag of Vermont Coffee Company dark roast....she said both tasted like heaven.

The changes I made to our heating system (split the zone on the first level of the house, using a variable speed circulator) are sure working great. The temperature is very consistent.

My wife makes stuffing that is famous throughout the family. Bread cubes, celery, onions, pork sausage, and broth. She also makes it on the side only...never stuffs the bird.

I had a 19lb Turkey I was gonna smoke for an event we didn't end up attending. So I roasted it. Thanksgiving Turkey gets the pork stuffing cooked sewn up inside the bird. The one I made today go cracker stuffing and a nice pan gravy.

I have smoked a turkey once before. It turned out great.

As for the stuffing, Andrea says it adds to the cooking time and can make the rest of the bird dry out. I don't argue. :D

I do a dry brine on the Turkey. I roll pats of butter in Bell's poultry seasoning and massage it under the skin. Bells, salt, and pepper outside the skin.I Stuffed the bird. I use the reynolds oven bag carrots, onion, celery, red wine, and broth in the bottom. I've poured beer or cider in the bag as well. The red wine gives it a rich taste. Cooked a 19lb bird to perfection in four hours.

Now the 33lb bird will not fit in the bag so I will be basting it every 30 mins or so and cook a little longer. My pork stuffing is twice ground pork butt cooked with ground onions, celery, Bells, and other spices. Cook it down and sit overnight leaving a little fat in the pan. Stuff the bird and sew it up. Smells amazing cooking in the bird. Its a bit foriegn to some but it's amazing with giblet gravy and mixed in with a hot turkey sammich.

And no, don't argue with the Mrs.
