Is Freddy MIA again? :D
Good morning friends come in sit a spell end enjoy some Ethiopian Yukiro Coop coffee ( city roast for all you newbies ) and some bagel sandwiches.
Not much going this weekend just tying up some loose ends before the snow flies, need to install a new MPD( I picked up a real nice NOS Griswold damper on eBay) and reseal the ash pit door on the Glenwood.
Looking forward to the M&G next weekend If all goes well ( fingers crossed ) I like putting a face with the name :) .
Have a good weekend folks, enjoy yourself, and as Freddy says " forward we go"

Another working Saturday but at least Wawa was down the street so I was able to get my morning coffee fix.

I too am planning to be at the meet and greet so I'll see you there hopefully.

Goodmorning all! Coffee always seems a bit better on Saturday mornings. Not much going on here just some yard work and house chores in between the scattered showers today. I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Thanks for opening the door K.

Yesterday we did the fall cleaning on the 1959 Axeman Anderson. I shot some video of it. It will take some time to get them uploaded on my slow internet service.

Mornin'
The local landfill is open the last Saturday of every month for the residents to part with their "stuff", so, now I have more room in the basement for coal. Now it's coffee time!!! Gonna be a nice week-end, enjoy!
Cheers

Good afternoon - blowing hard here, really shot a hole in my plans for outdoor chores. Oh well, good day to pick up the house.

Coal news - my trucker called and said my load of Lehigh just rolled into Chazy. We will unload it Monday AM.

Thx K for opening the door and the tip of Ethiopian Yukiro Coop will be looked into. I borrowed a much smaller pressure washer to do the house with and it is so windy today that the spray is useless. So I will do what any tough guy would do, open a XXX and sit and sulk.

I worry about Freddy. The endless partying at North camp is way to much for a retiree. I hope the damage is not permanent. Hours of swinging a baseball bat at drone sized insects is exhausting. Time to knuckle down for 8 months of winter.

Hmmm, if I sit in the Cat bucket and operate the controls with a boat hook just perhaps ... this is how old men die. The small amount of alcohol has made me invincible. Into the valley of death rode the 600. Franco will know the quote.

Theirs not to reason why
Theirs but to do or die.

The spirit lives on.

They will have to pry his coalpail from his cold dead fingers.

Awesome CN and Franco.....I must retire from the M&G as the wife has to work late the first 10 days of any month due to being a slave to corporate America. While the bosses are going down to the Redneck Riviera and drinking wine.

Kevin

95 the next 6 days at least, heading to the lake.

I was planning to have coffee with you guys yesterday morning while sitting under the sand chute getting loaded. A fifty mile trip to the sand plant only to find they laid a bunch of guys off and are NOT loading Saturdays again. So... another 50 miles to pick up a load of dry lime and tote it 80 miles back home so we did but that’s more trucking than I really care to do on a Saturday. Oh well.

Had some more thunderstorms roll through last night at about bedtime. The 15-day forecast shows highs in the high 70s and low 80s... I’m loving it. The cold dreary days will be here soon enough. I need to get several coal boilers brushed out and ready to go. In the meantime the newly installed heat pump is keeping the chill off at night.

Looking forward to the M&G this coming Saturday. Make plans to attend if you are able !

Twas looking up to be a banner year. A handshake with the man and perhaps followed by at last meeting all those coal board superstars ... heady stuff for a simple horsefarmer. I don't like to complain ... but I am going to anyway ... off again to San Diego.

Shelleys brother is Mr Superfit and now has colon cancer like my wife and stage 4 cancer all over. As I was the osteomy nurse for Shelley he asked me if I would assist him as he can't deal with it. Well I am going to complain to you guys whether you like it or not.

Sorry to hear of cancer in the group. Life isn't easy sometimes. As Charlie Brown & Tweetie Bird said: "We all die someday, but, all the other days, we don't". So, try to live each day that you're alive.

OK! I'm back.... but just for the winter. Yup, I was at North camp for a few days..... but before I left I took on a bit of coal. 23.85 ton of bulk pea , 19 ton of bagged pea & three ton of rice. The bulk is for me for the next 5 or 7 years, the bagged is for 5 neighbors. I hope it doesn't stay in my drive way too long! Camp is anti-freezed and closed for the winter. Well... It's still usable, but you'll be running to the Blue Moon when nature calls.

Hope you all have a smooth week!
