Shelleys mom died about two weeks ago and now her dad is having serious problems ..asthma, pacemaker, CHF etc etc. so I am out to CA at Carmel by the Sea as this may be Shelleys last visit. The good news is that a new cardiologist is on the scene and he is really turning around.. prayers, enough is enough. Where is the 3 seconds?

Well, we rented a little house very near to Mission Ranch hotel and restaurant. We got lucky with a cancellation. We decided to treat ourselves to an overpriced dinner there. 90 minutes wait but the table buzzer works in our room (REAL close). We are seated and having a drink and who walks in and comes over to our table, yep, Clint ( Eastwood .. is there another one?) who owns the place. I will never wash that hand again. He sits down at the next table to eat as ours was a little small. Eavesdropping CN now reveals there is another film finished after the Mule and it is coming out December. I do have a secret photo that my son is trying to enhance. The three seconds was my handshake ... oh well, back to obscurity.

Not easy having a sacred hand. Can't use it for anything.

I wish your FIL well. Losing a spouse and having his own problems has to be difficult and he is lucky to have you on his side.

I am so jealous about meeting Clint you cant even imagine it! Clint is my fav actor/director ever. I have a crapload of his movies, ones he's in and/or directed. Love his work and his off screen attitude. If him, Kevin Costner, or Mel Gibson didnt make or star in a movie it isnt worth watching at my house!

I never did buy Clints album... yes he released music too. Just not my style.

I would immediately dip my hand in hot wax and wear a glove forever. One good hand is all you need anyways!

Of course, coal brothers share, but don't expect to much. The restaurant did not allow cell phones and it was dark. However, it is good enough.... give me a few days.

Damn CN, you missed a movie pitch about the "Coalpail." Go back and try again, he'd fit in quite well around here.

Best wishes for your Family!

Damn, Marty( Shelleys dad) was doing well for a 90 year old but they could not leave it alone. So this morning cardioconversion and then Amiodarone (a really toxic drug) to add to the 5 drugs and things are really bad again. I can only complain to my coal buddies, Monkeys playing with mainframes ,,, a bunch of phkn idiots.

Saw Clint at Pebble Beach back at the 72 Bing Crosby Pro-am game on a weekend pass from Fort Ord. Lots of other celebrities, too. Clint was just sitting on his golf bag waiting his turn, like any everyday Joe.

But, they wouldn't let me get as close as you got, Simon. Might have been because of the quart of Boone's Farm Strawberry Hill I had finished most of. :baby:

One of my sisters lived in Pebble Beach. Used to see Clint quite a bit around Carmel. Especially since he lived there and was the Mayor for awhile.

Prayers sent that all works out well for the family.

Paul

CN,
I wish the medical arts were more medical science; and they tinker on, leaving us to bite our knuckles. No wonder we all do our own research and sometimes with better success. Prayers continue.
