Just google cell booster , several vendors sell them, most are expensive, some are not, so remember you get what you pay for. In my case my carrier loaned me one at no charge, yes I'm very happy about that.. Here is what I have...

Many others including Amazon..

One more thing,, if you have a really weak signal you would want one with a external antenna..

We have terrible cell phone reception here, in fact we have a tech coming tomorrow so I'll suggest this &see what they have to say. We had hopes of better service with a new tower they were putting up but they drug their feet after the tower was up but before any equipment was installed so a eagle family decided on it for a nest. The provider we have is leaning toward a separate phone line to get enough to operate our "ring" system properly, one of the downfalls of living where we do.

My family have used net extenders for verizon system they work pretty well but sometimes the system is down or confused. It goes over the internet to closest cell tower. This link is for refurbished one They are certainly better than no signal. I think i have issues because my elevation causes me to one day have cell signal and one day not. So the phone struggles to decide which system it want to use and causes drop out of call. They work , its to what degree and if you dont have cell phone signal most of the time get one You have to mount a gps antennae which is a one inch cube with 15 ft of wire to get your location

At our farm the cell reception is shall we say is minimal but we have good internet so this thread has interest. Zero OTA TV as well and this is supposed to be civilization.

One winter we went to Ocala Fl and stayed in a cabin on the edge of the Ocala National Forrest. No anything and so we bought a Wilson (now Weboost) cradle and we had weak Verizon cell phone reception but the phone had to be in the cradle and the antenna placing was a challenge. I was not impressed. We even used the phone as a hot spot but the data rate costs were through the roof.

You sound like a good candidate for a phone with WIFI calling and text.

Dang, you got some modern tech there! (the oldest phone does not work, others do. Can only answer on rotary, cant call out without converter). For whatever its worth Ive used a magicjack for years and love it.

Interesting stuff WM but I don't have time to BS. Time to take the car into town as the stagecoach delivered horse feed yesterday and my trunk is not so big.

The SOS with Windstream which is in bankruptcy proceedings, we have been trying to get something done here for 12 years. The Tech never showed or called, my wife called again & was told there was a hold on our fix. They claim they would have to run a new line about 2 & 1/2 miles & they don't want to. We are the last few homes on a run so get the crap, they are the only landline provider we can get & satellite around here goes out with a whim. We're going to look around & call a few to see what we can do.
