Mornin,
Coffee's on, Freddy left the door open!
Gonna be a 'scorcher' yesterday, today, and tomorrow. I love Summer, but, above 95* for the Northeast, is too damn hot!
Stay cool, everyone, and park in the shade!
Cheers

Morning all, like many I'm staying out of the heat as much as possible. Waited until close to eight to start mowing the weeds & got most of the front done in a light rain towards the end, felt good. Rained hard most of last night & into this AM but I don't think it's cooled down much. Hope all stay safe & remember to drink plenty of fluids!

Just in case anyone was concerned, I survived the Vermont Brewers Festival.

Hottest outside event I have ever attended.

I'm a little late guys.

I did the important mowing this morning, the rest can wait til next week. It's too dang HOT! 100 degrees here today, plus oppressive, tropical humidity. Dew points at 78 or so.

I'm totally with Rob. Beer me please,,,... and again!

-Don

Hi guys

We blew out of town Thursday morning and headed East for a family trip. I’ve had more on my plate lately than I could take and was getting pissed off. It was time to get the hell out of Dodge for awhile.

We arrived in Lancaster in time for a Sight and Sound Theatre show and stayed two nights at the Red Caboose Inn. Friday was a ride on a steam train a Strasburg and a local tour at Turkey Hill ice cream. Yesterday we came down to York to spend two days here at the PA Jeep show, not far from Stoker Don’s boiler farm. (I will have to catch you another time Don) It’s hot here but I like it and the kids are having a blast.

I’ve managed to slip in a few Yuenglings here and there to stay with it. Here are some photos of the damage, the area will never be the same.

Tyler was in that tourist trap known as Lancaster, PA a nice area to be sure but I hate whenever work sends me that way. You didn't mention Shady Maple, never been there but lots of folks talk it up.

Thanks for coffee D-frost, it's never too hot for coffee.

Yesterday was lawn mowing day and today was Knoble's Grove.

Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Shady Maple is for people who eat as a hobby. If you go, visit the trinket shop downstairs.

ImageTyler, if you go to virtual railfan, they have cameras all around the country. They put one up at Strasburg a few weeks ago. You can show your kids the railroad 24/7. Here’s a screen shot. Dennis

I’ve been through here enough times to know my way around quite well, but the city slickers coming out to see the farm country don’t impress me. I try to avoid route 30 like it’s the plague. I hear Shady Maple is all the rage for a full belly but I never did find out. I always figure if I’m gonna pay to eat out, then someone can serve my lazy arse.

One more stop tomorrow at Lake Tobias for the boys to see the wildlife park and then we will set sail West again. It’s been a great time. Thanks for the good wishes.

Very nice Dennis, thank you. The oldest one will love that.

I should have taken the time to corner someone about that beautiful pile of lumpy black bituminous that was out behind the shop for the locomotives in order to see where they found it. It was fantastic looking soft coal... lumps about the size of your fist and very little fines. I’m at the time of year I’m still not ready for that but it’s coming fast.
