The fake news is freaking out because we are having a few hot days. Has anyone here ever seen temperatures in the 90's? Is anyone here too dumb to get out of the direct sun if it gets too hot? Are we too stupid to drink plenty of fluids? Are farmers and construction workers immune from the heat?
I consulted with my Doctor and he ordered me to stay inside in the air conditioning and drink plenty of beer.

I'm sitting here at about 16 degrees below the recorded historical high temperature record for this region, and people think its a sign of the end of the world. What will they think when inevitably someday it is 17 degrees hotter than it is right now?
Reliable temperature records for this region only go back about 170-200 years. What temperatures happened here during the 10's of thousands (to of course, millions, and even billions) of years of unrecorded history?

I only have this small AC unit for three larger rooms, works fine most days. It's struggling today, I set it max last night and crawled under some heavy covers. Sitting at 78 right now will likely get up to 80 in here if not a few degrees more, Oh the humanity. Guess I will need to drink more beer to offset this tragedy.

It isnt the heat its the humidity! Only 90 here with heat index of 105.... good wind so not bad if you dont move fast. Hot but its normal for summer here. They do really over blow everything they can on the news.
It made some of the corn tassel today so not all bad.
Gaw, you have a smart Dr. I bet you would pay him/her out of pocket if you have to, to keep him/her.

Don’t flog the stuffing out of me but I enjoy the heat. High 80’s and low 90’s are right in my wheelhouse. I agree though that the media is making a big deal out of nothing. Infants slept through hot nights without AC for hundreds of years.
That’s a hell of a note for the coal delivery guy to love the 90’s, huh?

I have a fan blowing on me, sitting in my underware, drinking a Yuengling Black and Tan while listening to some '70s and '80s rock. I think it will be OK!
Mike
PS I'll spare you the picture of me sittin in my underwares

25 years with my Trane XL and no real attention of any kind. I am too frightened to look now. It's a time for prayer and reflection and wait until Monday when things apparently seem to dramatically improve.. My loving wife would turn into a raving bitch if the central air went down. Every year I promise myself that I will look at it next year...... sounds OK. An HVAC tech would rip me off for sure. How can I justify that expense when I could buy a third Glenwood #8 instead or even a Radiant Home K-7 Baseburner.
Lifes essentials must come first.
Hey FF off to bed now it's way past 1AM.. A nice hot epsom salt foot bath and get yourself tucked in for the night.

We had hotter temps here in CNY back on 2000. I remember the local news said it hit a record 102F in Syracuse when I was there for a car show. Hardly anyone was doing close-up viewing of the cars - everyone was just trying to stay in the shade.
Sure was glad to get back in the AC of my modern car !!!!
That Summer was so hot that I bought a couple of window air conditioners. Rarely need to use even one since then.
