Probably works better than the original one on the car.

and maybe cheaper than fixing?

There doesn't seem to be that much holding that generator on the roof. I'd hate to be behind them when it flies off!

That's what I was thinking too, as long as you already own the generator the window air conditioner is cheaper than servicing the one on the car.
