In reading this,I literally Thank the"Old Man Upstairs" for the Warmth and Humanity that's been shown in a Thread Topic such as this. Freddy,I wish I had the power to fix this, but I do not. In reality, there's nothing that needs fixing! We Laugh and Love with Our Fur Kids, and We are better for it. We also stand tall in Hell when We have to make the call to be Humane and stop Our Best Friend from Terrible Suffering! Freddy,You hit this right on the head with how You've seen it,and how You acted in regards to it! Know that We Luv 'Ya,and We've got Your back! Stay with it,Brother!

I feel for you Freddy. We just went through this in February. I guess it's what we sign up for when we bring a good dog into our lives. It's a mark of a good owner to recognize when it's time and to have the compassion to end the suffering. Our pets count on us to get it done the best way possible. You can feel good that you accepted the difficult responsibility of doing what needed to be done. My condolences to you.

Sorry as well, Freddy. They sure can be good friends and family. I had one great dog in the 70's and 80's. Also got attached to my second wife's dog until we had to put him down about 10 years a go. Still haven't gotten another and should.

Hello Freddy. So sorry about your loss.
We had to put down a dear one just a couple of weeks ago.
His name was Blue. He lived 12 good years.
I'm not one to usually get to sentimentally attached to pets but this guy was different.
I didn't love him like one of my kids, but it was close...

I read or saw a quote somewhere that went kind of like this - A good dogs only true fault is that he doesn't live long enough...
