That is a great tribute video lincolnmania, some good photos.

This video will give you a taste of David A’s unique accent.

I was not a friend of David A’s only a casual acquaintance. Most of the valley was at least a casual acquaintance. I had the opportunity to sit with him a few times at one of the local watering holes years ago. Just imagine that accent with a snoot full of booze and you can see that trying to have a conversation was a challenge.

I last spoke with him a few weeks ago about the miner photo in another thread and he did have a good lead for me that eventually paid off so he did play a small part in that. He was not as heavy as the photos show him and word is he had some ailments from all the years working in the mines. His house is right on the main road through Hegins and Valley View and more often than not you could see him sitting out on the front porch waving to all who passed by. His presence in the valley will definitely be missed.
