Looking for a better oil filter ?

I just stumbled upon this, never knew these existed, from the youtube video I saw they used to use toilet paper rolls as the filter.. anyway just thought I would post this, maybe some of you would be interested..

Toilet paper ? Go back even further and you'd be see what's inside the earliest oil filters.

I just cut open a 1928 Purolator canister oil filter to "modernize" it by gutting it to hide a modern spin-on filter mount inside it. It's going on a customer's 1931 car that he drives a lot.

Inside is a sheet metal tube core with hundreds of holes punched in it. Wrapped around that was layers of cheese cloth tied with string as the filtering medium.

And these early bypass type oil pump system filters are rated for 10,000 mile change intervals.
