Ah, but the real TRS 80s, when shaken, had spare pieces of solder rattling around in the case. Yes, I am sure it still works.

Always good to have spare solder with a Rat Shack. And it's the old solder that you can actually solder with, not the new junk solder. That should make the unit even more collectable.

Heathkit was good stuff if the builder was good. There are still un-built kits around and they sell for hundreds of dollars to collectors, even the TV's. Probably worth 4 or 5 times as much than if they are built already.

Kester still sells good solder. The day may come that lead will be banned completely but for now we can get it.

Yeah,I'm old enough to remember Heatkit! I even remember you could build your own TV and Ham Radios... 'Twas an Amazing Era!

Those are all familiar names to me. I built several Heathkit radios as well, one was shortwave, had a long wire antenna strung out in the yard.
