Love it! I know someone that just might have RR spikes. Cotter pins I have! The square holes in the hood would be priceless.BlackBetty wrote: some old rail road spikes with holes drilled and some big nails or cotter pins might do the trick!

If you go looking for something you will more than likely find it at some point.
Might as well add some more chaos to this dog and pony show around here. One Jeep is just never enough, I’ve always had to have at least 3 at any given time. I sold the ‘89 YJ I started overhauling a few years ago when I needed money for stairs and risers in this house... the boy in the scalehouse at the quarry shouted out the window at me for 6 months and I finally caved.
I have been looking for a suitable CJ-5 to finish out that was much like my Grandfathers 2nd Jeep for awhile now and then along comes this gem. Ironically just up the street from where the EFM stokers were built up until a few years ago. This guy owns a metal fab shop and took care of all the body rot by pulling the tub off the frame and rebuilt the tub properly from the bottom up. The frame is very sound with no cancer and the engine and drivetrain very strong. Little Hurricane 4-cylinder idles and accelerates pretty as pie. Steering very tight.
So here you are. Presenting “Pap”... 1965 CJ-5. Another long drawn out project that I do not need, but what the hell. We are off to a good start for once anyway.

I'm a little late to the Saturday breakfast table but I don't mind day old coffee and leftover french toast - just drop it in the toaster for a warm-up.
The knee was hurting bad so I figured I better give it 2 Aleves and a workout. Started up the little TLB and dug out the 20" chainsaw and into the woods I went. Pulled out a fresh deadfall and diced it up and hauled it up to the wood pile. While I was at it I freed some ash logs from the tarp stuck with ice to the tarp covering the remain UAE nut and diced them up too. Looked into the woods and figured it's time to battle the grape vines and that pesky invasive bitter-sweet vine that's taking over all the undergrowth. Yup, got my workout and today the knee feels much better.
Time for a fresh pot!
