What no Neal Peart covers? Listen for the offbeats and missed beats.

That is one thing that gives Rush it's unique sound and very difficult to do as a band.

I recently reunited with a band that I used to be in 25 years ago. We did nearly a whole set of Rush.
Here's the ones we did on our recent reunion tour ;)

2112
Red Barchetta
Limelight
Tom Sawyer
Distant Early Warning
Spirit of Radio
Show Me Don't Tell Me
Dream Line

Luckily we have a drummer that is a Neil Peart fanatic.
The Bass on this stuff isn't easy either!! But I love the challenge and I'm a sick Rush fan

There is an instinctive primal appeal about drums not found in other instruments.

I guess so Grumpy. :D

I had a friend that was a drummer, he's the one that turned me onto Rush and was able to enlighten me to how difficult it was to play many of their tunes. He was playing with a band called "The back Doors" which was hugely popular Doors cover band in the late 80's into the 90's and early 2000's. They toured all over the eastern part of the US, unfortunately he passed away going on almost 15 years now.

If you want to get primal Franco, here you go. If you never really heard Neil Peart play the drums or Rush it's worth the 8 minutes if you like instrumentals. You really need stereo to get the full deal... It can easily be said this is the best band ever as a unit and each individual will always be in the top whatever. Little bit of history. Rush started playing in the early 70's, never went "mainstream" and did it old school playing 2 or 3 hundred days a year for almost 4 decades. if they went on a limited summer stadium tour they would fill the stadiums and you will see a three hour show or none at all. Last tour was 2015 and unlikely there will be another.

Talk about driftin a thread!! The girl is awesome--anyone that says that the Queen song(Freddy Mercury is not one of my favorite's) is a easy drum is an idiot. This lil girl kicks ass!! :)
