After many years of trying various ways to accommodate off topic political discussion this is the final place I will allow it. Keep your political comments light. Anything I deem too hot or inappropriate will result in your privileges for The Coffee House being permanently revoked. There will be no warning or appeal. I'm not going to define what is inappropriate either. There will be no "this user did it why can't I". If I'm pissed off because I overheated the water for my coffee in the morning don't complain to me if you had your privileges revoked for The Coffee House. You might as well talk to the wall, I simply don't care.

The ideal temperature for brewing coffee in a French Press is about 200 degrees, brew for four minutes after adding water to the grounds. I go a little lower but I double the grounds because I like really strong coffee. To paraphrase Alton Brown, people who dislike strong coffee actually dislike coffee made with water that was too hot.

Coffee made with a percolator would then be too hot?Richard S. wrote: ↑Sun. Welp, about the only thing I can say is that none of You Feeble Bastardos better not touch the Woolrich Sock that We use fer makin' Saturday Mornin' Coffee!! That's Sacred! I guess that something perhaps even more important, and serious, would be that You All Respect Freddy, the Coffeehouse's Long In Da' Tooth And Semi-Retired Proprietor.... Thanx!

I'm thinking we should take up a collection to get the Mayor a good thermometer before anyone starts posting!
