A percolator operates by boiling a small amount of water under the base of the stem. Once water boils it brings out the bitter flavors in the coffee, the trick is to keep the water just under the boiling point.
My advice to the Mayor is to get hold of a Sunbeam Coffeemaster.

Since in such trying times I can't imagine discussing current events at any level without injecting my strongly political perspective driven views, I will use this post whereby to bid goodby to coalpail.com. I may drop by on occasion for a sneaky-peek, but I will likely no longer post.
It has been fun, and there are some truly great people involved here, foremost of which is Mayor Richard for providing and maintaining and policing this forum.

A major loss, especially since Larry is a model of decorum. I can't imagine any post of his being cited as not meeting that standard, but his perception of the rule is what counts. Walking on eggs is not his forte.
On the other hand there have been many posts remarking on the goodwill and courtesy that visitors to this forum have found. That this is so is due to the guidance of the Mayor and to preserve that is a thing of value. The danger though is to become too bland. Being "woke" is not good either.

The choice is your Larry but I believe you are overreacting. I don't recall ever reading anything you have posted that was a problem.

Everyplace has gotta have some rules! The coffee house has always been a "safe place" and I think should remain such. If someone comes totally uncorked they deserve to be banned. I've never known the Mayor to be unfair. Forward we go!
Hi Richard and Friends,
It's been a long time since I've posted but have enjoyed the site over the years. Coal was a lifesaver for me when oil prices hit 4.00 a gallon in NY.
You run a tight ship here and take no nonsense. I was wondering what is your take on Facebook and Twitter and their censorship of elected officials?I'm pretty torn since I feel you can't let people say anything online?
Thanks

They don't censor all politicians--just conservatives!!!
However, it's their right just as it is your right to censor the members here. You can't have it both ways. It might not be fair but these companies can make the rules as you have here. The only difference is that you have thousands of members and they have millions. If you had that reach then your site would be in the media. If I don't like how you censor I can leave the site. Why doesn't that apply to all social media.
