Since getting into HVAC service a couple years back I find Redwings to be the best.

I've been getting my boots lately from a company in Pa.. Corcoran , they make mainly boots for military. Union made in USA . Not real expensive , very comfortable . Try Midwestboots.com No tax and free delivery . The have just about any kind of boot or shoe you can think of.

I have worn these:

Super shock absorbing ... not very protective other than that...they sell "microbounce" now too although it looks to be not as bouncy as the "megabounce" pictured

I love my Keen's. Large toebox area, and removeable insoles.

Hi,
These seem like a very different type of shoe. The spring sensation is pretty unique, and does take a little getting used to. At first it feels like you're walking across a trampoline! I'm only into them a week or so, but it seems that my knee and ankle pain is less, when I have to spend time on my feet. My knee and ankle have had extensive surgery and standing, walking, etc. is pretty painful, but I think these actually help. I notice that these shoes work other muscles that I don't normally work when walking, so I've had some leg cramps a couple of times, but I'm guessing that will diminish.

I'd go to my local Redwing dealer, tell them what you are hoping for & let them sell me a pair of whatever they want.

The OP has probably found his shoes by now, seeing as the thread was started 4+ years ago.

They are probably worn out by now and he may be looking for another pair.

I like the Red Wing aluminum toe sneaker style work shoes i bought for around home but i don't like the "MADE IN CHINA" label.

I'm just now wearing out my 2nd pair of Reebok work shoes model RB4890 wide model with composite toes. Im flat footed with a couple issues and they are the best Ive found. Its all I wear at home or working, walking, hunting, anything. I dont need the composite toes but their too comfortable to care and they do save on bumps and bruises when I drop things. Insulated enough for winter if the snow isnt deep. 1st pair lasted 3 years and this pair over 2 now, both worn all day long.

I was a Redwing man before these.

Another vote for the composite toe, that steel will freeze your toes off.

I am wearing Merrell Moab Adventure for non-steel toe low top shoe. Best I've had in a long time. I've put quiet a few miles on them too. I need the wide width and not every brand is wide enough or offers wide with. They are so comfortable I bought 2 more pair for the future.

I don't need (or want) steel toe for work since I have to go through metal detectors all the time. Hard to find a good work shoe that doesn't have a bunch of metal in it.
