Been awhile since I stopped by for Coffee! When better to be on the Coal forum than a 95 degree day. LOL! Called C&T Coal for a price and he was hard pressed to give me one. He said he's never seen it like this, and he's been in business for awhile. Still cheaper than oil and an American fuel. Finally headed to pick up the Keystoker KA-6 next Saturday! Hope to post some pics then. Not sure when I'll get it installed, but at least I'll have it. Looking forward to having it in with the Peerless as backup.
The sooner you get that boiler hooked up the sooner it will start saving you money.

I wish Stoker Don and Yourself lived closer! I'd drag you guys into this! Not sure how much money I'm gonna save. Coal is going up! My dealer doesn't handle rice. Might have to order a truck of bagged rice from PA. I'll be happy to have it in. So much going on, it may be awhile yet. The Chubby did ok heating the place last year, no hot water though.

Maintenance is job 1 and expense 1. It never fails. My AK 180 just runs and runs and works fine. My Trane 5 ton HVAC is running in it's 28th year without service. Overpowered of course.

The price of coal is going up across the board, not just on rice. And What kind of coal dealer doesn’t handle rice? It is one of the most popular sizes.

My local guy handles Stove,Nut, and Pea. He doesn't have much of a demand for rice. Seems to be a lot of old hand fired boilers in this area. Must've been a Tarm and Chappee Boiler dealer in the 70's and 80's. Lot's of Chubby Stoves too. Not many rice coal stoves and boilers. If I want to request a few tons at once I imagine he could get it. That or get five tons shipped from the breaker.

Just got back from North Camp.... Coal dust footprints all over my deck! It's a beautiful sight.

I hope you are all managing to stay cool. It hit unofficially 99 here today..... Part's of Maine did break official records with 96 degrees.

Good news for everyone born before 1973.... you have been vaccinated for Monkey pox. Yup.... Vaccines work & you have had the smallpox vaccine & it covers you for Monkey pox.

Hug your loved ones & forward we go!

Interesting. Hopefully you can work something out.

The stoker boiler will do four things the Chubby stove cannot.

Heat the house evenly, even with closed doors.
Heat the basement.
Heat your domestic hot water.
Run for days without any attention.

Once you get the Keystoker landed in the basement we will see what the install entails.

I bet that cold water of the might St Lawrence feels good today.
It was 75F and felt amazing. Crystal clear water. We took a boat ride and went below the Long Sault Dam. What a huge structure. Kind of freaky being up close to it.

I like playing with the stove, but I work 24s and the wife isnt a fan. Though, she has really come a long way keeping the stove going. She hated the stove at first but now she walks in the living room with her cup of coffee and stands with her back to it on the coldest days. LOL! Yes the boiler will be welcome for certain. It'll be nice to be able to heat the house a little hotter than with oil. Anyone on this forum who knows me, knows I've been talking about this for years.
