Praying for her Richard, I can relate.
C-5 and C-6 has been rebuilt and has done great but lately I am having trouble down low... I really don’t want to think about going through it again.
At any rate, keep us posted.

Unfortunately we are back to the ICU..... She was doing really well Tues. and we were expecting to leave Wednesday but overnight the nausea and headache came back. They did a MRI and some CT scans and believe she has had a minor stroke on the cerebellum Tues. night. They are not sure that's when it happened but that's when they think it happened because the headache was in the back of the head.
As the doctor explained this might be a problem if she was a pro football player. It's rare where it happened to begin with and in 17,000 surgeries he's never had it happen and he can't find in the literature it happening to anyone else either after this surgery. Might of been brought on by the vomiting or simply a coincidence, they aren't sure.
In any event she has no outward physical problems other those related to the original back surgery. The fluid has just about stopped draining so hopefully she is done with the nausea and the headaches. They have her in the ICU so they can monitor her closely, they are going to be doing multiple scans over the next few days to make sure the affected area of the brain is not progressing. Assuming all goes well we'll be leaving Monday.

Just as before the ICU is so she is monitored more closely. They don't expect any more problems. She's eating, sleeping etc.
On the upside at least one of the issues they thought was being caused by the back problem appears to be resolved. The tops of her feet were painful to the touch and she says they feel real good. She took up horse riding after her retirement but she hasn't been able to ride in quite a while, she's hoping to get back to that.

Richard,
Hope Mom is continuing to do well. Glad you updated as I forgot to reply re: Miralax.
As this conversation was some time ago I duckduckgo the search term PEG 3350. For those interested the study continues and it is not the antifreeze component some suggested. The dangers have not been settled and interestingly the FDA funded study was not completed by the end of 2018 as projected. I stand by my previous assertions. Search PEG 3350 and decide for your selves.
Hope and pray Mom gets back to good health.

Should be out of here today, she was walking some distance yesterday and wanted to go home but they wanted one more day of physical therapy. Can't wait to hand the old man the motel bills. LOL

Well Mom is home or almost home. She is walking well enough and she thinks the surgery was a success. Guess it's worth it in the end.
My cousin will be visiting tomorrow night, he lives a block away and will be bringing his sleeping bag. I have 1.75 liter unopened bottle of Captain Morgan that I intend to drink until I fall over and that is no joke. Gonna need a puke pail.
Let the hockey begin...Gran Turismo should be quite fun about 4 hours into it too.

The Stanley Cup is better than the Superbowl most of the time, but more games of course. They play full out the whole time, much more than the regular season. Very skilled sport. Im looking forward to it.

That video is from Play Station 4, we'll be playing our own Stanley Cup.
PS5 when it is available will be indistinguishable from real game, PS4 is pretty close. This particular game is considered one of the best for real world physics.
Check out the racing game, you can get virtual reality helmet, seat with the wheel and pedals. Force feedback on the wheel and vibration for the seat. The only thin missing is the g-forces and the thrill of knowing you can could die.
