Kevin, have you looked into a hypoallergenic dog? I did and don't regret it.

I am one of those people that does not care for dogs. As far as owning one....I like a well trained dog and can appreciate why some people have one. Or hunting dogs. We just like the freedom of not having to wait on an animal like a child. Just get up and go and not worry about getting home.

That's a fair assessment and understanding were you are coming from. My dog is a labradoodle is a trained service dog for myself, as well as a well trained bird dog. Being alone, dealing with past issues from my miltary service, my dog has been super supportive. He senses when I have something going on and reacts quickly and assists as he was trained.

Agreed...animals are not for some people.

Really good dogs are not just born, they are trained. And it is a long process for an object that only lives about 15 years if you are lucky. I would leave lapdogs out of this, they have different functions and are generally spoiled. More like a cat actually. Almost no one needs a dog, they want one, or a dozen. Farmers, ranchers, and special needs dogs are few and far between. The working dogs if you will. People that live in a small apartment in a city do not "need" a Golden Retreiver or a Lab. Better yet, a "rescue" Greyhound......or Greater Pyrenees.

June 8th our big fat sassy Daisy cat passed away at 14years and 1 month. She never saw a food bowl she didn't have interest in so it was quite surprising that she outlived one of her siblings. She could be a mouthy cat and sass back about what you said. She def did not like hearing fat or whale lol.

Sorry for your loss, I have a soft spot for cats. And I like that coloration.

So March 15 we lost our favorite cat and my dad's care kitty Mimi, she died short of 12 years old. She was one of 3 feral kittens my mom rescued in 09. She was an indoor only cat who spent most of her time fussing over my dad, very much a lap cat. She had lots of memorable habits that are missed in our daily routine. She'd pat my dad on the cheek when she saw him crying after my mom's death, and she noticed the tumor growing and regrowing. She'd also check his temp with her nose. She was a super well behaved cat and sorely missed.
