Rosie and Mollie. Rosie is pocket beagle about 1 1/2 years old and Molly is Springer/Beagle mix about 4 1/2 years old.

I spent a lot of time with Mollie, her favorite tricks are catching frisbees and jumping on command to get a treat clenched in my teeth. Rosie's favorite trick is antagonizing Mollie. They play very well together and like to take their daily afternoon adventure into the woods for about 1/2 hour. Love to know where the hell they go sometimes.

Video here of Molly at 6 weeks: molly.wmv

I share your sensibilities concerning animals but like too many I lack the determination to do much more than talk about it.

We are so lucky to have people with your depth of understanding among us and are so willing to share that understanding.

Those are all big dogs and it needs uncommon skill to sort things out which you seem to have.

Thank you for your efforts which have to a degree their own reward except for the knowledge that you can only do so much.

"The only difference between animals and people is one of degree"---Earnest Thompson Seton.

Good thing you are thin, otherwise you would have to sleep on the floor.

There are so many nice things to say about the different breeds but Pugs are among the most outgoing and sweet.

Airedales have that terrier spunk along with solid bone and muscle, a tough dog that was used for police work in Germany.

Labs of course are the universal dogs as are poodles.

There is so much to learn about and from them and the wonder that they all came from the wolf. I read recently that they were domesticated a lot further back than was thought.

That is Willow, our "pugle" beagle pug mix. At least thats our guess on her breed. She's a mix. Last time my wife was pregnant the damn save the animals commercials, you know the ones with puppy faces at pounds, made us go adopt one from the local animal shelter. Glad we did she is a sweetheart, scratch her belly and she curls her top lip and looks like a smile.
