This really sux. Our beloved Tank has Dilated Cardiomyopathy. He is only 6. He was perfectly healthy until Sunday night when he went into full blown Congestive Heart Failure. As of now he is on meds and is not suffering any. We are devastated to say the least and we know it will not get get better, but will only progress. We also have to try to explain to our two year old Granddaughter that he is not well and they just can't play and rough-house like they have always done.
Life is cruel sometimes.........................
This Sucks

Man that totally sucks - sorry to hear that. I wish our pets would have at least close to our lifespans, but they were wired completely different. At least you gave him a good life & he's not suffering - that has to count for something. Sometimes even our human brothers go way too early. I lost my best bud to cancer at age 26. Life can definitely be cruel ...
I can imagine the heartbreak from this. Hang in there man.

Thanks for all the kind replies. As of now, he rests most of the time but he does still have his "good time" moments such as playing and squirrel chasing.
Sorry for your sadness you must endure. My buddy's dog Blackjack had to be put down a few weeks ago. He was in Maine, but a lot of friends and family helped lay him to rest in the back yard. It was something like he broke his own back jumping around. He was one of my favorite dogs ever.

I am so very sorry for all. They are truly our best friends.
