The time has come to replace our 1980’s American Standard toilet in the downstairs bath. This beast uses 3.5 gallons per flush, and often requires two flushes to complete the job. With two kids and frequent visitors, this toilet gets a lot of use. I have been planning to replace it for years as part of a bathroom remodel, but we keep putting that off. Now the toilet needs an overhaul, so I’ve decided to replace it. I did some research and discovered there is a forum for everything, even toilets.

I ordered a Toto Drake with an elongated bowl and universal height. Should be here in a few days.

I was expecting the first reply to be Freetown Fred telling me to just use the outhouse, instead it is you telling me to get a bidet.
I might consider one for our master bathroom, but not the one the kids use most of the time.

Rob I’m late to post since the toilet is gone but those oatley gel packs work great when taking one out to gel up the water.

What makes those so expensive? I see they are around $500 . Iv been buying the Niagra stealth .8 gal flush from HD. Now $220 but i paid $150 for both of mine . Inflation strikes i guess. They work like a charm. Have one for 10 yrs and the other one for 1yr.

Honestly I read a lot and decided Toto had the best performance and reliability for the money. Mine was $340 with the soft close seat. I am not familiar with the brand you mentioned, but it also sounds like a winner.
