That tree was just as tall and full on the street side as the rest an hour ago
The bucket guy is using one hand on his motion controls and the other using the saw and he’s moving up and down and in and out of the branches like a squirrel

That particular tree has thrown stuff on the house 5 times since we’ve been here
The worst one cost me a roof
It’s been just a matter of the combination of time and money since then and today the stars and moon lined up.

I watched a tree cutter build a rough cabin using a chainsaw instead of a power saw. They get awful good with them. I have one of those trees myself, a soft maple which yours may have been. You wont miss it.

I had a huge oak taken down last summer, about 4-5' diam base. they did really good, even over power lines out back. all the other guys wanted WAY more and told me to call the power company and have them trim it, they wouldn't, since it was over 15' above the lines, it wasn't an issue for them.

i was worried about the power lines and my garage if it ever fell, plus it dropped huge acorns. The roots were getting rotted too. I ended up with a lot of fire wood on my wood pile.

That old saying better to make friends than enemies sometimes is true. I would talk to him first and play scared victim. If he blows you off, all bets are off. FF is correct in a lot of states but check your laws first. Your local municipality may also help if you present it is a hazzard. They may send a letter stating he has to remove the hazzard or face having a lean put on his house until he does. That would be if he was being a real pick but can get legally messy. Many have no harm no fowl laws meaning if there is no damage there is no liability on their part. I had a neighbor years back leave a tree in my front yard for a week that fell in a storm. He made no effort, just cut his lawn like normal where mine was dieing underneath the tree. Out came the chainsaw and I build a tangled 8ft high wall of debris 30ft long on the property line. I took pictures before and after making sure he saw me. Felt good. He wanted to be a Prick so I raised him 2 Pricks. A few days later a tree crew came and cleaned up the mess then knocked on my door to ask if I was satisfied with the cleanup. Why people can't be human is beyond me.
