Best thing to do with the aluminum nonstick pans is to throw them away.Richard S. wrote: ↑Thu. Apr. 08, 2021 6:37 amOk so the vinegar wasn't working as well as expected. This film is almost like greasy film but I don't think it's grease because I ran dishwasher on high, steam and sanitize which I would assume should take off any grease. The film was on SS and plastic in disahwasher too.
I soaked all my glassware in vinegar solution for about 15 minutes and then cleaned with scouring pad. Cleaned the entire inside of the dishwasher, even removed the spinners.
Ran just regular load with half detergent, some dirty dishes and I now have nice sparkling glasses. Going forward I'll just use it for glassware, dishes and SS and see if it comes back. If it doesn't come back I'm going to take a guess it was from using it to wash the aluminum non stick pans.

I got a new dishwasher a few months ago, and I am shocked at how much better it works than my old one. Both are GE dishwashers, but the old one was a mid-tier model and the new one is their "Profile" model.

That's a big 10-4. I thought a lot of the extra cost was just fancy features, but my appliance dealer said a couple hundred $ more on a dishwasher makes a big difference in washing performance.freetown fred wrote: ↑Tue. Apr. 13, 2021 5:34 pmHence---ya get what ya pay for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! .>)

I don't use them often but for things like eggs, mac and cheese, etc. I'm talking about real mac and cheese, that powdered crap cleans up easy. However my most often used pot is cast iron.
I also inherited some older Reverewear from my Grandmother but most of it has copper bottom which I can't put in dishwasher either. The one nice sized pot that was nice heavy SS is the one that had a hole blown through it with the stove issue I posted about last year. I'm looking to expand my SS collection.

When I was buying this I was considering better model. It is a cheaper model but it gets stuff clean. I don't think the source of my problem is the dishwasher. Second load and the glasses are still sparkly.
I'm not positive but perhaps I had combination of problems. The aluminum was leaving deposits and when I ran that one wash with a lot of greasy stuff it turned it into super piss you off cloudy dishes.
I think the root of this is the detergent. You can still buy old school Cascade but it's expensive. If this problem comes back that is my next step. It's marjketed under different name but that is what it is.

I have this inate ability to beat most problems into submission even when there is easy way out however I must admit defeat. Simple fact is Cascade, at least the two basic versions, suck donkey balls. I'm guessing results may vary based on your water but with the water I have it's useless. To rehash the powder form was cleaning the glasses well but there was this terrible odor. The odor went away with the gel version but glasses are cloudy.
I bought some Finish Quantum, the more expensive variety in the gel casing because that's all they had at the store I shop. In one wash the glasses are about as clean as they have ever been and I even purposely packed in some really dirty/greasy stuff. I'll use up the Cascade I have left alternating loads with the Finish. The cloudiness builds up over washes so it won't be bad. Next step is to see if the cheaper Finish works well enough.
