I have been working on a new duck coop the last few days. We had one in the same spot, but I did not like it, so I bulldozed it, and now made this one. It is not quite done, as I have to wire it for lights, but it is much more open, taller, and is more rodent proof then our last one.

Right now we have only one duck (Marmelade), but Katie has 27 more coming tomorrow, 15 Rouens, and 12 Red Sex Link Chickens. We figured we had better make a spot for them.

Myself, I do not like chickens, but love the ducks...they kill snakes, eat a ton of ticks, and I hate both ticks and snakes!

Our state just today charged animal cruelty to a 20 something guy for throwing a duck off the Chesapeake bay bridge.

Here's a thread about coups. Third post down, chicken town. Have to admit, there's a lot of work that went into this.

Here we call those kinds of farms as:

"Two goats and an apple tree"
"Kubota Farmers".

We get a kick out of the latter. They usually have a 60 hp Kubota and only own 4 acres of land.

Whats funny about a hobbyist having nice equipment? No different than having a 60" deck for a riding mower when a 16" manual reel mower would work. Or having a 260k boiler when 100k would work. I dont have a 60hp Kubota, but i would mind if i did. :D
