I’ve changed a few Commercial Blodgett oven elements. One time I changed one out to have another go bad when I turned it back on...real nice fire, light show looks like a welding rod gone wild for about 30 seconds till it burns thru.

Got the new heating element but it now appears the control is bad. Everything else is working as expected but for the one that exploded it just goes to high and stays there. Not sure if the control got cooked during the explosion or was the cause.

I tested it to make sure it came on before reassembling the stove but never though to test to make sure it could still control the temperature correctly. This sucks because it's good half hour to take this damn thing apart... <sigh>

Glad I didnlt order the new dial because now I have second heating element that exploded. Both of these elements that failed appear to be original so they are quite old. Ruined a real good pot this time which of course was full of water. Think it's time for new stove top. Wish I didn't spend 80 bucks fixing this one.

Well Fred I would expect this would be odd occurrence to happen once let alone twice. This stove wasn't used for 20 or 25 years, not sure if that has anything to do with it. The elements that failed would be from about 70 or so...

Richard, sometimes things are just cause they are--no rhyme nor reason--even us brilliant folk gotta accept that!!! :)
