L, just make sure ya build it twice as big as you're thinkin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL
this was just bad timing.

the 10x20 shed that got crushed holds my lawn tractor and lawn and garden stuff and storage. i am going to go a little larger prob a 14x20 since i have some old cub cadets sitting outdoors waiting for restoration. would be nice to be able to store those indoors.

i have a 30x32 pole barn with insulation being built in april, so i don't need a whole lotta extra space back there.

called about a zoning permit for a new shed, and a demo permit for the old shed and i needed setbacks for the new garage so i can lay it out.

dad never got a permit for the sheds lol. i told them the shed has been there close to 40 yrs. i think it was 1982 when dad and i built that shed.

they told me just to replace the shed and not worry about a permit lol.

Miss you dad! you were a true rebel!

WOW !! If that was here I’d have to pay for the permit to put it up (with fines !) then another to tear it down ! And another to put it up again !!!! 😆

Good news on not needing the permit!! Had a similar thing here when the snow load a few winters back took down the corrugated pole barn. Since I was "repairing" what was there - not building "new" and had no footer for the building no permit was required. Not much left from the old building when I was done, just a few utility poles I was able to use for girt support between the new posts I put in. I had wanted to tear it down and rebuild something better anyway so it just made it easier to get the old roof off which had been 20' up.

+1 on build it bigger than you think you need!

it's so muddy i'm not sure how to proceed.
i have a 80 gallon horizontal air compressor to move yet, and a complete 302 on a stand and a 302 short block and the alaska stoker to move yet.
my engine hoist is in there too but that is holding the shed up.

the roof is only leaking in one spot lol i bet i could fix this shed if i wanted to.

tempted to save the stoker and scrap the stove body, it is rusted thru around the chimney and both sides. i did not notice that when i moved, i knew it needed some welding but i did not know it was this bad.

Ordered a new shed today. Found the best price from a hardware store about 25 miles from here. they had one in stock, but i still need to tear the shed down. This way i get the colors i want, i also added extra pressure treated floor joists.
it's a 12x20 garage, maybe once i get my stuff organized and cleaned up i can park the toyota pickup and the lawn equipment in there.

i did not, got a big mess to deal with already. would have been more trouble trying to figure how to move the log to the sawmill.

i got the crushed shed unwired. my dad ran five runs of romex in conduit and the conduit is full of water and mud. so much for that, gonna have to run new wiring in the future.

insurance adjuster stopped in again now that the tree has been removed.

we are getting $9,200.00
they paid for the storage pod.
they paid for a dumpster. that is coming next week.
they paid for the tree to be removed.
33 dollars a square foot for the new shed.
they are also paying for site prep and stone.

they are replacing my engine hoist that got damaged.
and they added some time to replace the big shed roof. i showed the adjuster that i already have the new roofing, just ran out of time last yr.

same company since 1968......dad originally got erie insurance because they were not concerned with the 60 amp electric and coal heat back then. this is like the 4th claim in 51 yrs lol.

going to use that in the garage i think. i decided i wanted the wiring surface mounted for serviceability. romex in the walls would have been cheaper but then i would be rushing to rough that in by myself, and the builder gets 5 dollar per cutout on the interior wall liner.
