Just re-decked our back deck from Cedar to PT last summer and will need to put something on it to preserve. Any of you guys have ideas? Thompson's? Just want a transparent, no color preservative that hopefully will last a couple years between refreshes.

Thanks

We (Julie and I) took a week last year and stayed 3 nights in Vero Beach. It was in May I think so very quiet in town but nice little beach. The folks that lent the house to us had a plethora of books including one on the crackers. I didn't realize that ranching was so big down there. We returned to Orlando straight up the middle of the state, nothing but ranches everywhere still.

linseed oil 1/2&1/2 with kerosene on deck around house. takes a beating from tree sap& the moisture in the woods. not for looks but deck is about 35 years old.old motor oil for landscape timbers around some garden areas also for all wooden handle shovels, rakes, pitchforks etc.

I've seen my father in law use the linseed oil/kerosene for handles. Too caustic for dogs though.
