Growing Plants in Coal

Opps ....... To answer your question BB...... Yes, the only grow media I'm using is rice coal.
Although the coal is acidic my ph has been right at the suggested 6.8 to 7.2 and my ammonia and nitrites at zero. The potassium has been a little lower than I would like but it is starting to come up a bit since I added more fish.

Somehow I lost my reply so I'll try it again.
I was able to net a dozen 6" fish from a friend's overcrowded pond and plan to go back this week and get another dozen or so more. I piped the two tanks together and added another automatic fish feeder also.
Since I plan to add another 50' zone loop above the stairs and along the back and left side walls, I am going to take your advice and dig in a few more 1/2 barrel tanks before putting down the floor.
The plants are taking off nice since I added the fish so I think the third zone will give me another 50 plants or so.
