It was funny one night watching the rabbit try to keep eating bird seed around the feeder as the deer showed up one by one.

They didn't mind each other, and eat within a couple of feet of each other. But every once in awhile a deer would lift it's head toward the rabbit and the rabbit would move away several feet turn and watch. As soon as the deer put it's head down the rabbit came right back. That went on for about half hour until there were four deer. Then, with all those hooves and the deer not watching where they were going, there were some close calls for the rabbit getting stepped on.

The rabbit finally had enough of that and moved off to a safer distance until some of the deer moved to further away to go chew on Myrtle .

Then another rabbit showed up. The back yard started to look like something out a Walt Disney movie. :D

I've had the same thing here in broad daylight. Deer, rabbits, turkey, squirrels and chipmunks at the same time.

I posted this over in Freddy's Coffee Shop on Saturday:

My pup found a dead bat lying in the snow the same day the vultures flew over...the dead bat likely wasn't there before or the pup would of found it sooner.

have read a few articles in past couple years about the downsides of wind mills&solar panels.(killing off large amount of birds)last year read an article about the E.P.A. allowing so many bald eagles to be killed by these renewable energy systems.will try to find articles about this unless someone else beats me to it,it happens offen on other forums :(

Interesting stuff, but do windmills and or solar have enough presence to bother the bird population (yet). Hmm, here is another theory

Good reference yes?

wind set at 500 hPA.

Any thoughts?

Two weeks ago during that warm spell there were a ton of birds singing and chirping all day long...

Rumor has it that the invention & popularity of automobiles has caused a direct impact on all kinds of critters, no scientific studies to back it up but who believes in science. I pass a group of ground mounted solar panels quite often & many times see a red tailed hawk perched atop for a view of the fields so some adapt. ;)
