Definitely back in the 60's it was the big sale thinggy in that day & age--people got sick of replacing belts--so much for the web!! LOL

OK, I see the confusion. Their garden tractor was shaft drive in 1963, the shaft drive lawn tractor was 1994.

1963. cub cadet 70 and 100. the cub cadet original (1960 to 1963) had a belt going from the engine to the clutch/drive shaft. in International harvester owned cub cadet until the 80's when they sold to mtd.EarthWindandFire wrote: ↑Mon. I have a Cub Cadet original built in March 1961. 4 digit serial number. Pretty early one, has the high/low range and and a driveshaft. 38” mower and a Danco 30” snowblower.
