Glad your well pump came out of that undamaged. dad burned one up one time after the pump lost prime.
i need to put a sediment filter on my well before the pump but not sure which line is the suction line.
the pressure tank gets sediment in it then the water starts to stink.

I don't know if it is undamaged, but it is still working. My new pressure switch already came, and my new sulfur/iron treatment system is supposed to ship tomorrow. Hopefully I can get everything I need this week and do the install next weekend.

Install is all done and new system is online. So far it seems to be working excellent. I hard piped the backwash to the drain. Glad I had a drain close by, the amount of backwash water is substantial.

The gentleman that I talked to at ohiopurewater.com was great to deal with. He sent me an installation guide and stepped me through the programming of my new system over the phone once I had it hooked up.

Good job!
Piped into the drain here too. We have no basement drain and i did not want to introduce salt water to a cast iron pump or pump salt water near my garden where the sump pumps discharge.

This weekend's project was disinfecting my well. The recovery rate of the well is not as good as it used to be, and after a discussion with the the man that sold me the new water treatment system he said there may be a bio film from sulfur bacteria that is restricting water flow into the well. This weekend my wife and kids were gone to a soccer tournament, so it was a good time shock the well without worrying about bleached laundry or hair.

I followed the instructions in the link below, and now that the well has sat for 24 hours I am getting it flushed out. Later this week I need to top off the pool so I should be able to see if the recovery has improved.
