I support legal immigration. My wife and I petitioned her parents and it took over 5 years to get them here and I had to sign affidavit of support and now they are old she is a total care Parkinson patient that lives with us and we care for both of them full time.
My wife's sister has been on the petition list for over 20 years.
There is a problem when a lawful citizen wants to go to the bank and withdraw or deposit $30,000 of their own cash and is treated like a criminal while real criminals go free without prosecution.
What kind of message does it send if legal entry into the country with a sponsor is 20 years but people that enter illegally get to stay and are even put up in exclusive hotels?
What message is received when it becomes known that theft under $700 will not be prosecuted or that people can pitch a tent wherever they want in a city and no one can touch their belongings or make them move or even not schite in the street?
But you probably have more experience with immigration than I do.

People have no right to immigrate into the USA. Its a privilege, I say we stop doing it for the next 25 yrs.
We should put up automatic machine guns in trouble spots to gun down any people not following the law as well currently.
Our country won the Mexican war a long time ago and could have taken 1/2 of Mexico into the USA; congress did not want to change America drastically and did not do that.

The govt could stop most illegal immigration if they wanted too without machine guns. They just dont want too. 3 reasons, money, money, money.
Im surprised that you would give them a death sentence without a trial David, the way you always talk about rights and laws. Im sure you could say they have no rights because they are illegal, but then theres the human rights issue.
They are still human beings and shouldnt be shot unless laws were changed to allow it. That still wouldnt make it right but just legal, maybe. Good luck with that, not. I'd favor shooting Bears fans first, kidding of course.
Congrats on following the immigration laws CH. Thats the way to do it, legally.

People trying to come into the country illegally are invaders, not "immigrants" or "dreamers". Art. 4 Sec. 4 US Const. https://constitution.congress.gov/constitution/article-4/
The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion;....
SHALL PROTECT ... this is a mandate ! This specific section of the constitution is interesting.
See? Perfectly acceptable. But I am big on protecting rights. Democracy is not allowed as a state government...kek..for good reason too.

Ok Adolf, lol I'd call it ethnic cleansing.
The quickest way to stop it is to go after people employing them. The money they can make here keeps them coming.

No don't go after employers. The private employer is not the problem. The government is the problem.
Stop entitlements and all the plush benefits and they won't have any incentive to come.

See, that's where your "our country is in the toilet" mindset distorts reality. They will continue to come here regardless. The fact that we have more opportunities and freedoms than the country they come from is the draw. If you want to stop illegal immigration, go stand at the border and espouse your opinions of our country to them. You know, the country that is so awful that your wife came here. And that you spent 5 years trying to get your in-laws here. Quite the commitment for travel to such a horrible place.
Go after employers and let the country disintegrate any further and it will be no better than any third world schitehole. You have a narrow view. But we all know you are right.waytomany?s wrote: ↑Sat. Jun. 03, 2023 7:26 amSee, that's where your "our country is in the toilet" mindset distorts reality. They will continue to come here regardless.
