Whoa! That is awesome! Many times I have wrapped a come-along around the center of the tire and tried to cinch it down and force the bead to seal against the rim! Or tried it with rope and a Spanish windlass.

It has been reported that 'starting fluid' has been used by unnamed persons for an unbelievable inflation sequence.

I know Dave is into large amounts of explosives.......but this is different!

Note: This is not recommended and should never be attempted..........
unless you have been conversing on the internet about past, current or future political situations,
especially with the tormented folks from a southern corner of an unnamed New England State.

I have seen that with Starting Fluid/Ether too! They had an expedition on Discovery or something, and had to get the bead sealed, same thing...kinda cool.

It's a common way to set the bead on tractor and trailers if you don't have an air ring.

Take the valve stem out before you do it also.

Don't try this at home and you didn't hear this from me :P , Spray a little ether, hairspray or other flammable that can be sprayed in a fine mist into the tire and throw a match at it. You might want to experiment here with quantity to be safe and slowly increase the amount of spray until you get enough pop to get it back on the bead. I'm assuming its tubeless.

I have seated a few beads in my day as a mechanic using acetylene.

That's how they do it with monster truck tires. I think they use rubbing alcohol though.

Done it many times with ether on skid-steer tires, especially if it's cold out and no salamander to warm 'em up.

Sometimes it's one shot warm up / soften the tire, 2nd shot seats it.

I'd rather do an ether mount than do a split rim any day. Saw one come off once, even though it was in a cage I never want to see it again.
