Why would anyone unplug their air conditioner to save the planet and then plug their car truck or bus into the same power grid? To save the planet? Too stupid to be stupid.

Right, we'll just breath all the nitrogen triflouride and cadmium teluride fumes from solar panel construction. Which are on the upside of 20,000 times worse than co2. Look it up.

"Especially school buses with kids not breathing all that exhaust."
Don't know about your school buses, BB, but all of ours the exhaust goes out the back, not in with the kids.
Got your backyard windmill up yet ? Your gonna need it when all that "future" you keep saying is coming gets plugged in and the grid goes down. You'll be begging for rides from your ICE driving neighbors.

The article notes "Buy American" but a closer look shows that the "Buy American" is not a mandate but does place foreign components used in a product to be outside re-reimbursement under DOT grants. see https://www.transit.dot.gov/sites/fta.dot.gov/fil ... aivers.pdfgaw wrote: ↑Wed. So the Buy American is a paperwork and accounting issue and foreign component costs would not be re-reimbursed so there is a cost increase to the agency buying a product with foreign components.
The other issues noted in the article gaw linked are not able to be answered so quickly.
But I wonder...how many kids will have to burn to death from the battery fires expected before people say "Hey, maybe big electric vehicles using batteries are not a good idea." Its a reason and concern why hydrogen fueled vehicles are rare. Will it take one "Hindenburg" electric bus incident?
