Are car dealerships needed ????
There has been a lot of discussion about franchised dealerships and whether
that is even needed now...
Do we have dealerships for the things we use everyday ?? The toothpaste and the
banana dealer come to mind....
Here's how the dealership (Distributor) model is screwing over Australians.
What do you think ??? I will never go to an auto dealer again, there is no reason..
EV's don't need regular service like ICE vehicles only the normal wear out items.

What EVs need is a bookshelf. So's you'll always have something to read while waiting on that charger.
BTW, did you see that Consumers did real world tests,.... they confirmed a 25% range loss in Winter just to keep the car warm. Turns out that cold and hot weather don't go well with EVs - even when charging.
And for those not doing short drives in a big city, the good news is, pulling a small trailer with a gas generator on it doesn't use up as much charge as towing a full-sized trailer/camper.

Sleep, sleep, sleep is what you do while charging , waking up to a
fully charged car and no reason to go anywhere to refuel.
A Bolt with 250 miles of range still has 185 miles of range in
cold weather , will you drive 185 every day?
Been driving EV's for 7 years and would never go back to
petrol fueled vehicles.
How many EV's have you driven???
Ford laying off 3000 more in their ICE division and need to
release many more because the ICE age is over.

They don't need engines and transmissions and their many parts.

And if I want to visit my friend in Rhode Island, or my brother on Long Island, am I supposed to "sleep" somewhere along the way because it's over 200 miles one-way to each of them ?BigBarney wrote: ↑Tue. Aug. 23, 2022 10:37 amSleep, sleep, sleep is what you do while charging , waking up to a

I don't need an EV - I'm more green that that. My workplace is 75 feet from the backdoor and I walk to the stores.
What I need is a car that it won't take all day just to go on a half day trip. My time is valuable to me and like many I don't want to spend travel time sitting wherever somebody else decided a charger should be.
Did you ever think that EVs are not such a great idea because the financial incentives didn't work to make them popular enough to replace ICE vehicles on their own? And how many EVs do you think would be on the road if it were not for big taxpayer backing and not paying their fair share of road taxes ?
So, instead of like all great ideas sell themselves (you know, like ICE vehicles did) EVs now have to be forced on us by government laws ?
What else in your life would you want forced on you ? How about if EVs get as popular as you keep insisting they will, you would be forced to pay for and cover your property with solar panels or windmills to feed your EVs and not strain the grid,..... that it seems you want the rest of us to pay to upgrade for your EVs ? ICE drivers are already paying the EV share of the road upkeep costs. And ICE vehicles being lighter, they don't wear the roads as much as a comparable-sized EV.
Yeah, I can hear your future. "Sorry Boss, I can't come into work, we had a brownout of the grid when everybody plugged in their EVs and there was no wind last night and it's too dark for solar. I'll be in to work come Spring when the snow melts and lakes are back up enough to give more hydro power. "

I spend less than 1 minute plugging in to charge at home per week.
Zero time waiting to fuel up , time spent sleeping.

Car dealerships are now making a bigger killing than they usually do. Selling cars and trucks for well over their MSRP. People should have the option to order directly from the MFG same as anything else. Warranty costs are paid for by the MFG anyway, not the dealer.
