I have a set in my garage for my Volt...bought them 9 mos ago...will change the tires this summer.
When you buy a EV vehicle, buy tires before you need them & when your find a deal. Otherwise you may end up bending over to buy at the time you do need them.
So, this extra cost can be mitigated to a certain extent.

Not car tires, truck tires. Big difference.
My tire costs dropped 50% and the tire life-span milage doubled when I got rid of my E350 and bought a minivan with 1200 lb. payload capacity. And that was over 20 years ago when tire prices were not as crazy-high as they are now. I hate to think what special EV truck tires would cost.

Towing empty 1400 lb trailer and again with a car on trailer
EV range takes massive lowering v. estimated range.
32 mile trip to place with car, 32 miles back. Starts with 200 miles est. range, ended with about 50 miles est left.
Empty trailer .. go there with 132 mi est range left (used 68 est range for the 32 mi true miles). 1- (32/68) * 100% = 53 % range "loss"
Ride back with car on trailer ... 132 mi est range left, ended with 50 mi est range left. (used 82 est. miles to true 32 miles). 1-(32/82)*100% = 61% range "loss"
Compare to ICE (MPG est 19 on sticker) ...
Guy got 14 MPG while towing (displayed MPG was error, corrected in comments). 1 - 14/19 * 100= 26 % loss.
So when towing, the EV loses 62% of non-towing MPGe and ICE vehicle loses 26 % of MPG.
All # based on data of videos only, I have no personal experience with any F150 model.

The youtuber is not smart as well as others who post similar vids...I'll lump them all into "he" here.
He filled up his truck first, good. Did not re-fill to get accurate gallons. Bad. His vid just goes by electronic display...not shown to be accurate. Any vid like this is immediately disregarded as being nothing more than anecdotal.
For EV youtubers
a) filled to car up with electrons kek b) done his trip c) then measured watts put into EV to bring it back into full condition. 99% of tubers don't do.
Youtubers talking about MPGe values also highlights stupidity. MPGe values are bogus made up numbers based on price of gasoline that the manufacturer chooses. One should not use MPGe values at all...100% bogus numbers.
Reliance on the mileage left gauge (EV or ICE) is also in error....its a) not needed and b) somewhat misleading
Now, one can use and measure watts sucked up by the battery...via Dr. KilloWatt for example.
So how can one compare ?
Well, I can with my Chevy Volt. It is both a EV and pseudo-ICE car. It only has propulsion via electricity in either driving on electric or on gasoline (a generator that produces electricity for the car's electric motors).
Both values were measured...via noted above methods...several times.
The Volt on gas power = 35 MPG
On electric , uses 35 KwH per 100 miles.
Which one is "more efficient" ?
Simplest way is to calc. BTU for given miles....go with 100 mile trip..get to same units, I'll choose BTU
EV uses 35 kwh = 35 khw * 3412 btu / kwh* = 119420 BTU
* from site's energy comparison chart
Gas car ... 100 miles / 35 MPG = 2.85 gallons
2.85 gal * 120,238 BTU/gal = 342678 BTU
So, energy-wise EV car expends less energy v. ICE running the car. Cheaper? Depends on energy costs. (now with my energy costs for kwh and $/gal = 10.5 dollars for EV and 9.4 dollars ICE)
This is the analysis required for towing for EV and ICE for F150s.
I have found that sticker MPGs are generally accurate except for those that are not (a few models have been found to be wacko #s..for most part they are good)
This particular vid is really not of any use in examining what the guy wanted to examine...he failed.
GM is discontinuing the Bolt but making an EV version of the Equinox next year so thats better anyway. Bolt is just too small for me. I may be tempted to look into one.(EV Equinox), They say 30K but we will see. A good Lease rebate could seal the deal.
