Last month the 2020 Chevy Bolt EV did 109 mpge, thats some good mileage.

Ask Apple,Microsoft, or Google for their software codes and see how far you get...

109 is made up number..not based on measured data...it uses ~35 KwH every 100 miles.

109 looks nice but its a fake # .. see the sticker for how they calc. it

On a long downhill stretch with our 2000 VW Pasat wagon, the dash gas milage reading got up to 140 mpg. Wife and I agreed we should only ever drive on that side of the hill. Numbers can be such fun.

Evs are kinda like things used to be driving a diesel. Cost per mile is lower until you need service and parts, then you make up the difference fast. All things considered its hard to beat a high MPG ICE for long term low cost transportation. The cheapest car to drive is the one you dont have a car payment on.

Of course you know that the value displayed was totally inaccurate. Numbers are fun. Fake numbers? Not so much.

At 30 miles per 100 kwHr is nearly the same as 1 gallon of gas... In energy...

So gas is $3.69 a gallon and 100 miles at 32 mpg is 3.125 gallons...

3.125x$3.69=$11.53 per 100 miles...

100 miles / 3.5 mile per KwHr = 29.6 KwHr ...

29.6x $0.15 KwHr = $4.44 per 100 miles...

So 11.53/4.44= Gas is 2.6x as expensive or 260%....

This does not even take into consideration of 28% gasoline efficiency...

https://www.google.com/search?q=electric+motor+ef ... s-wiz-serp

https://www.google.com/search?q=gasoline+motor+ef ... rpElectric motors are ~85% efficient...

Gas has 121,000 btu per gallon and electric has 3412 btu per KwHr.

It also does not take into consideration the car payment i do NOT have right now
and dont want. It also does not take into consideration the cost of replacing the battery. Which is so high insurance companies just junk the whole car in case of damage.

Most EV cars use 35 kwh per 100 miles. Not 30 miles per 100 kwh. You might have accidentally swapped the values. Suggest recalc.

The Ford EV 150 states it uses 50 kwh per 100 miles...

My Volt uses 35 kwhr per 100 miles

EV losses piling up. Ford is projecting. Who will be next . Toyota starting to look like the few smart ones not following the crowd.
https://www.axios.com/2023/03/23/electric-vehicle ... r-gas-cars
"Ford revealed Thursday that it expects to lose $3 billion in its electric vehicle division in 2023, despite early sales success for the F-150 Lightning and Mustang Mach-E EVs."

Only profits form ICE cars and truck keeping them above water and paying the bills.
