Picked up this 1996 Lincoln Town Car a few weeks ago.
Sold my 2014 Santa Fe to Carvana for a few thousand more than I paid for it and picked this up and fixed up my 1986 Toyota Pickup. Been working out in the heated shop and it's wonderful!
Sure it needs some work but now I'm debt free!
126,000 miles and the list of parts I ordered is long but this car is not rusty!

That's a beauty. Does it still have the factory intake manifold with the plastic coolant crossover? If it does that is something to keep an eye on. If the transmission has not been serviced with Mercon V fluid, put that on the list also.

It's got a new intake manifold, previous owner had it replaced last year.
Yes i have a transmission filter kit coming and all new filters and a differential cover gasket.
the front suspension is getting rebuilt and it's getting pads and rotors up front and a new radiator and coolant. My buddy got me the tires for 40 bucks a piece. In the future it will get the upgraded 16" wheels and then the 98-02 big brake conversion (super easy on a 96 but you need 16" wheels) I was the first person to do the 98-02 big brake conversion to a 80-89 Town Car. The 16" wheels are not cheap like they used to be, neither are these cars!
the really really nice town cars are selling for 5 figures now!

Yes, these were/are nice cars. They are big by today's standards, by far. However, they are small compared to many much older. The 1978 Mercury Marquis was a big car...a true 6 person ride.
I know where one of those Lincoln's is that's identical to that one. It has low mileage...like low 80's...it might be in the low 60's, if I recall correctly. It's in really great shape too and the paint is spectacular, as is under the hood. Garage kept all it's life and under cover. It's so clean that it's likely only been washed less than a dozen times since it was bought new.

I have had 4 different cars from the Panther platform. People will poke fun at you for having a “boat”, but as soon as it is time to go somewhere everyone walks to the boat.

I love my 99 Vic even though it is rusting away. I dont see many of them here anymore except at grocery stores where old people are parked. Or very many actual cars anymore. Its mostly trucks and the ugly new style they make now.

Nice new ride, Linc! Good deal on going through all the things that matter right away. Looks to be something that ought to be roadtripped!

Yup, your right. These days it's all SUV's and 4-door Girly Trucks. Cars are becoming a thing of the passed.

It’s a 1993 model with just shy of 70,000 on it...and parked next to a Black 2017 Continental.

That is quite a list. I looked on the computer and found a few pictures of my old cars. Only one I could not find was the 1988 Grand Marquis.lincolnmania wrote: ↑Thu. I kept the 2001 the longest - for 7 years I think. Out of the bunch the Mark VIII was my favorite.

Give me a 1979 Lincoln 4 door any day, but please pay for the gas to drive it! I rode around in one of those a lot in the back seat. What a nice car. I could have lived in it if it had a coal stove.
I did have an early 70's marquis and a 77 Tbird, both good cars, but they werent Lincoln's.
