You make it seem as if they are going all electric. They are launching an electric drive line in addition to the diesel engines they already make.
Smart move on their part. Hopefully the increased investment leads to better battery technology.

yep, every household should have a carbed vehicle with a points fired rotary dist. ( with the points in the glove box with a popsicle stick between them ) on a trickle charger under a tarp or in a building somewhere. along with a stash of oil and fuel ( being rotated for freshness )
or eliminate the liquid fuel by going to www.driveonwood.com and build a gasifier.
plans and provisions will be way better than not when we go Mad Max.

Throw a couple of new condensers in with that set of points, wrapped in aluminum foil. If an EM pulse is strong enough to take out modern car the electronics, it may be able to fry the condenser - the weakest link in breaker point type ignition system.KingCoal wrote: ↑Fri. And a voltage regulator. You want to be able to have a function vehicle.Sunny Boy wrote: ↑Fri. Whatever,..... Just don't move to a State that relies heavily on electricity,.... like Texas just experienced.

We don't have enough power generation in major parts of the country now. One of my sisters and 3 of my daughters in California are having to learn to live with rolling black outs as it is. Yeah, great idea for the "future", go EV and put even more drain on the grid.
