Considering that I work at an engine plant for Chrysler, I mean FCA, opps now Stellantis this is not very good news. Peugeot has already stated that they don't want to invest anymore money into the internal combustion engine. Rumor has it that we will be getting a new engine in this plant, for my sake I hope so! I like the pictures that have been popping up of the new remote charging stations for electric vehicles which is powered by a diesel generator!

The automaker will go completely carbon neutral at all facilities worldwide by 2035.
Carbon Neutral does not mean no hydrocarbons...
So how are they going to make all the parts that go into these cars...
Hydrocarbons...
I would love to see the math on how they get to Carbon Neutral when the Radicals say they must do more...
I want to see how they run an electric smelter on a cloudy still day...

Hopefully it goes better than the ethanol plant 3 miles from my house that's closed down. There is no way the power companies can support the energy that would be needed to charge everyone's vehicles. They are struggling now with running air conditioners in my area! Here is a google search I just did, that to me is a lot of energy for 1 charge?CapeCoaler wrote: ↑Fri. As of April 2020, the Tesla Model S can be purchased in Long Range and Performance versions, both with a battery of 100 kWh. If you have the Performance variant — which has a range of 348 miles — it costs $15.29 for a full charge based on electricity prices of 13 cents per kWh and 85% charging efficiency

Using the Al Gore new climate math that allows living in big mansions, all lit up like a small town, and always traveling in a private jet. It's that new Common core-ruption math.CapeCoaler wrote: ↑Fri. Feb. 05, 2021 10:21 amThe automaker will go completely carbon neutral at all facilities worldwide by 2035.

there is not enough lithium reserves to make all these electric cars and battery banks to store wind and solar energy.
Tell Bolivia you want to mine their salt flats, see how well that goes over. Watched a documentary on it over ten years ago, you think the enviromental damage from coal mining is bad, that's nothing compared to lithium mining.

It looks like Apple has chosen KIA to manufacture its coming EV's. KIA will likely construct plants in the USA whereby to build Apple vehicles.

They wont build them if nobody buys them. But we know how that works. People will buy them after some brainwashing and arm twisting. And there will be subsidies involved.
Perhaps they will design a way that they can fully recharge themselves while driving. That is the only way to make them sound good to me, not that I will ever buy one.

When I made my annual trip to Tamaqua to get my coal this last September, I could not believe how many car haulers headed towards New York that were fully loaded with Tesla's. Had to have been at least 10 I past on I-80. I remember 2 years ago on that trip I past a Tesla SUV pulling a small camper, that would seem to really eat into the battery consumption! I just don't understand why people would want the logistics of driving one of those on any sort of trip? What a PITA and then when you do make it to a charger, it's hours before you can take off again. Just not for me.lincolnmania wrote: ↑Fri. Thanks to government intervention, some day in the not too distant future it will be the only available option.

Someone pulling a camper is someone proving a point. Probably plenty of money already, and making a video for Youtube or a magazine. Carefully planned route for recharges. Then write a glowing piece about how convenient it was.
