Actually looking for very specific car, if you happen to see one within a few states of me (preferably south), let me know. Probably going to drive the Lacrosse for another year but if I find the right deal with exactly what I want I'll buy.
What I'm looking for is Regal GS, older model 2014ish in the 50 to 80K mile range . The specific one I'm looking for has this new fangled theft deterrent system called a manual 6 speed. I started looking at them and was pleasantly surprised to find they have this option. Should of never looked because as soon as I saw that manuaI option I immediately went from keeping the Lacrosse for another 2 to 3 years to one year. I just have too much money invested to sell it right now. Going to be a real nice used car for whoever buys it.
I have always had a lot of good luck on CL but I'm drawing no results even up to 2000 miles away. That $5 fee has really put the damper on buying a used a car. I don't do Facebook but I guess that is the next place to look. Just looking now but definitely in the next year.

I used Craigslist for many years, however it is definitely not the beauty queen it once was. I setup a FB account last Winter to get the Marketplace but you have to participate in the rest of their shenanigans before they let you use it.
It is the most effective way to buy/sell for free, I’ve sold several items within hours of posting it, including a Mack truck. However, I got suckered into using the rest of their platform as well, something I said I’d never do.
As far as the car goes, I will keep my eyes peeled.

It won't be easy to locate, cargurus has 1300+ Regals listed, 6 are manual 3 of which are the GS. One was listed in NY, really not interested in NY car. Bought one from there once and sold it quickly after getting really good look underneath. As you know we have salt damage here in PA but that was outrageous. Next closest one was Ohio.
I know someone that used to sell cars, I'll ask him about it. As far as FB I'll just have someone else search for me.

I saw that, a little out of my price range and too far. I might be willing to go as far as NC for it but only because I could visit some relatives. I'll just keep looking, I'm in no rush.

I did the same thing. What constitutes using FB? I really have zero interest in FB other than marketplace. Right now i use my SIL FB account to message.

Were all the Regals 4 cylinders with or without turbo by 2012? There's two 2012 manual trans GS's in MD. on FB, both turbo. One in Baltimore ( $6300) with 100k, huge rims and looks like 30 series tires. Another south of DC, Lexington Park with 116k ( $8500) with aftermarket exhaust and the cold air intake. Look pretty good. Maybe clutch time for either?
I never seriously looked for a car or bike in MD., but I once read that it's illegal for a MD resident to sell a vehicle to another MD resident that is not inspected or can't pass inspection. So they sometimes target PA. for an audience. Mostly hoopties.
The gem I saw was in your area, Richard. A 1937 Buick Century 2 door. Manual trans, 66k miles. Claimed 12 volt conversion and hardened valve seats. Maybe overpriced at $10k? Dalton, PA. I don't know old Buicks, but evidently the Century back them got the larger 320 ci straight 8 and would do the '"century".

I don't know Hank, I know they stopped making the 3800 in 2008 which is the engine they used in almost every car. Regal, Park Ave, Lacrosse, etc. At that point they were offering a turbo in performance models but I think it was 2.4 which is larger than this engine.
Not a huge fan of the grille and the giant Buick emblem but otherwise it's really nice looking car. The interior is really nice.... The thing that has really given me the itch is the manual six speed. I leaned to drive on manual, took my driving test with manual, first car was manual and of course all the coal trucks were manual. If they had one with split shifter I'd really be in business.

I wasn't sure when they stopped producing the 3800. That was a real popular engine for a very long time in one form or another. I believe it started out in the early 60's. Some say that the pre 3800, roller cam 3.8 and the last couple of years they made it were the best.
That's real nice that they offered some of those Regal packages with a manual! I believe the non turbo 4 banger was the 2.4 and the twin scroll turbo was a 2.0. Something like 180 hp vs 250-270 hp. Good luck finding the right one, sounds like real fun!

I heard a rumor that places other than Detroit have started to make cars. There is no replacement for displacement.
