When the new electric 150 is ready to go...

https://www.cnbc.com/2020/09/17/heres-how-ford-wi ... ckups.html

https://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/2020/09/electri ... aims-ford/

The electric F-150 – due out in mid-2022 – is expected to cost about half as much to maintain and operate as today’s pickups.

Faster, stronger, more economical, funner, and ready to make ICE trucks obsolete.

If you want a truck this deserves a look..

Does it come in 4 wheel drive and can it plow snow? If so, can it run for 8 hours or more plowing snow in below 0 weather?

JJ,You read my mind like a Dirty Book!
Along with that,some other questions:
1.) What is the Proprietary Battery Cell Replacement Cost with Labor,Core Disposal/Recycle Charge at the "Stealership"?
2.) Charge Range when heavily using Cabin Heater/Air Conditioning?
3.)Can I Overcome my Despisement of Ford going to All Aluminum Bodies causing Havoc with Auto Body Repair, and Results? Prior to Retiring,I was an Eye Witness to problems this has caused...
4.) Galvanic Corrosion due to cheaply attempting to isolate dissimilar metals-Ferrous Frame&Running Gear Components VS Aluminum Body?
5.) Will ANTIFA &BLM Buy in to this and make Fleet Purchases to Support this effort?

Crap HB...I thought having a 2017 F350 with an aluminum body was a good choice for my first Ford every. Only 15k on it thus far, as it's only used for plowing and hunting. You ruined my thought of a truck that would last me until I'm 70. By that time I won't need it anyway. You sure do a hell of a rain dance on a fellas parade.😁

They'd have to reissue a 1991 F-150 before I'd want it anyway. I'd say up to 1996 but the cabs have less leg room after 1991 until 1997 and I dont like those. Too many useless expensive gadgets.

I haven't bought a new pickup since 1978. Once the new smell is gone, and you have dented the top of the gate loading it with a forklift, it's just another old truck. That's when you start thinking what a dumb investment buying it was.

The big secret with all these electric trucks is What does it weigh? Like the Tesla Semi, weight is a big secret, but you never see it with more than about 30,000 on the trailer. And when they hauled them back from cold weather testing, they only loaded one on each aluminum stepdeck. Those trailers can load 50,000+ . My day cab diesel tractors weigh between 17,000 and 18,000 and they are no lightweights.

I'm sure somewhere right now someone in the department of revenue is working on a way to dye the "off road" electrons red

My 2004 F150 FX4 with only 60K miles, went to the salvage yard, the frame was completely rotted out (no thanks to NY winters around here), it would not pass inspection and nobody wanted it for a trade, they couldn't do anythign with it either. and probably would have broke in half if I drove it with a load in the bed. It had a few other issues too, didn't want to put any more money in to it. It was a great truck.

i saw that about the electric F150 and hybrids. I just don't want to plan my long trips around where charging stations will be.

I believe some states will charge a fuel/battery tax or something electric vechicles to get more revenue, instead of the gas taxes.

About 4 years ago, our 2004 Ford F150 Lariat cracked in half while up on a lift in the shop getting a brake job. Almost killed the mechanic. The only thing that saved him was that a customer had just arrived and he stepped away from under the truck to greet and speak with the customer when our truck suddenly split in half behind him.
