I have also had this happen. Do people really fall for this crap? I also HATE the smoking too good to be true deals on certain things....how does craigslist allow them? I have also tried to get in contact with sellers on multiple occasions on seemingly legit adds and don't get a response. CL plain pisses me off!

CL does not monitor things well and have lost many buyers and sellers moving to Facebook and other venues. FWIW I probably get 10 responses on Facebook for every 1 on Craigslist and seem to get answers on things I want. I gave up on CL. I hate FB but it is a good place to sell on. That of course will vary for everyone.
I cannot believe how many $5 items are listed on facebook. Is it really worth having strangers come to your home for $5?

WTF... I have bought several things from Craigslist my stoker, a couple lathes, a badsaw, several specialty tools. I have never sold anything though.
I always tell the seller that I am armed the second they greet me. Surprisingly every seller I have encountered has replied so am I and there has never been a problem. Their are too many weirdos to take risks.
