If GM spins off the ICE business the remaining GM Corp has no value ????

All they have are old tech plants that are not needed in the future of

Auto Mfgr. They will have to sell off many plants for pennies on the $

as there are no buyers, who needs engines and transmissions?

https://www.freep.com/story/money/cars/general-mo ... 549426002/

There stock will continue to fall with no viable products in sight.

There is no argument to present...ICE will never be replaced by an entirely electric industry.

No vehicle that gets its energy in NY is using any coal energy produced

in the state unless imported from the surrounding states.

Some of NY 's power comes from Ontario Canada which is also coal

free.

https://thenarwhal.ca/ontario-s-electricity-offic ... oal%20free.

You won't be getting electricity from coal in NY because the last coal

fired power plant has closed in the state.

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/20/nyregion/coal- ... gy-ny.html

No fossil fuel can compete with renewable solar energy . You can't

beat an energy that has no fuel costs in its production and any no cleanup

costs when it is decommissioned .

Hence the reason electric rates in NY are so cheap.

Producing solar panels leaves a carbon footprint and when they are disposed of after replacement does cost money.

Not to mention that Ontario power is the result of the largest Hydro project in N America.....and the only reason it goes to NY is they pay the most. How much forest and land was destroyed? How many miles of power lines is there? And on and on. Free milk and a cow right?

I signed up for "Solar For ALL" through "NYSERDA" & my solar assist cuts around $20-30.00 per month off my elec. bill--the solar farm I'm apparently hooked up with is in Seneca, NY & by God that's far away!!It is a NY State Administered utility bill assistance program---it's managed by "Nexamp Seneca"--I guess it's cause I'm old & a farmer with little income showing except SS. It started on 1/3/20--started seeing a decrease in elec. bill in March. I don't necessarily understand it much but I like the bill decrease.

How do I know where the electricity coming into my house comes from? Are the little pixies marked somehow?

With electric choice in PA I can choose from a variety of suppliers, I can even overpay for "green" energy from some suppliers. Let's say I choose the cheapest option from none specified source and the neighbor chose an expensive green option. When I look at the pole by my house I see a single transformer and it feeds my house and the neighbor across the street. You mean to tell me that our power is coming from two distinctly different sources, I think not.

GAW:

You have to realize that the grid is like a large soda with soda coming in from

multiple sources and is taken out by the people enjoying the drink.

Each of the suppliers are paid for what they put in , at rates that are set

by contract . If more power is needed it is paid for at the market rate which con-

stantly changing to meet the demand.

The guaranteed supply is much cheaper so they try to contract as much as the

expected demand. They can also sell to others if their is excess and enough demand

is needed elsewhere.

The place the power is used has no say in where the power comes from ,except in

cases where there are large users that purchase power on contract direct.

Here near me a new solar farm is going in on ~3000 acres.

https://www.southripleysolar.com/

ConnectGen expects to install up to 270 megawatts of solar in the area, which has the potential to power over 67,000 homes in New York State.

Some of these are where the supply comes from to Nexamp.

You can participate in the farm as you do and receive some of the

money from the energy produced.

Here's where our energy comes from in NY.

https://www.nyiso.com/real-time-dashboard

~17% from hydro, ~25% nat gas , ~25% nuclear , ~31% multifuel.

PA energy supplies..

https://www.pjm.com/markets-and-operations.aspx

Since some on the board are in NE here's their supplies..
