Hangman's knot is used here for different purposes in fishing and hunting bear in my area. It was also used by some boatswain mates in the Navy for a variety of things. Hopefully they won't go so far as to make rope illegal.
Although in the Navy, I was corrected by a senior boatswain mate (who happened to be black) on my verbage: It's called a uni-knot in the U.S. Navy young fella' and that will keep ya out of hot water with certain younger hot headed shipmates. He asked me where I was from and why I still used the term. I stated the area I was from and that is what it was always called by my great grandfather, grandfather and uncles who used it for fishing and hunting purposes. He just laughed and said "You truly wouldn't have a clue that it would be found offensive, due to the use and your teachings" I did share that I understood how it was used in history, but truly didn't know there was another word for it. He just laughed again and stated "now ya do".

There's 13 turns in a hangman's noose, anything else is just a knot.

You would not use any knot that slipped for a door pull...
So why would you think it was a Hangman's Noose...
This whole thing of people bowing to the Mob Mentality has got to stop...
If Not it will be like 67-68...

The parts for these cars can top $ 100,000 for even minor things. I'm sure cameras are everywhere!
