NASCAR announced Wednesday that it was mandating teams “only use traditional battery-powered equipment to repair a vehicle on the service side of the pit wall,” including “reciprocating saws, rivet guns, screw guns and drills.”

The title of your thread should be "NASCAR pit tools must be battery powered". The gasoline powered demo saw was seen as an unfair advantage by many, and clearly outside the rules that call for battery powered tools only.

Personally I think they should be looking for ways to make NASCAR more exciting while they still have some fans.

Isnt that the truth! I watched them for the 1st time in years, the 1st race they had a few weeks ago and kinda enjoyed it, but its not like it used to be at all. Banning the confederate flag might help viewership, might not. But they need to make it racing again and not the most money wins.

They lost me when they went over to kit cars and effectively became a spec series. Ditto for Indycars.

This years Indycars with the mile high windscreens look awful, and they are 6-7 MPH slower in a straight line on top of looking awful. No incentive there.

You are likely right but Im thinking they are gambling it will. They have a Black Lives Matter car in the next race... Yes, the Black driver and Im sure he is very sincere about it, seriously I am, and I also think Nascar will be sincere about making some money and fans from it  The media will be all smiles and slapping each others backs saying how nice it is, nodding their heads for us  So to borrow a Larry word, the Plebes will tune in their TV's and watch the race, maybe spend some money on some overpriced Nascar trinket  And like the world, the track goes around and around

Barney with what I am currently reading regarding NASCAR, all the battery-powered tools in the World will not fix the problem they just created for themselves. They seem to have a misunderstanding of the fact that most motorsports fans tune in to get away from politics for a few hours.

Now they want to shove an agenda down our throats...GTFOH.

NA$CAR...
They blew it bigtime when they turned their backs on the Loyal Fans that got them there. They shitcanned the smaller tracks, the smaller fans, and went after the "Flash In The Pan Yuppy Money". The Yuppies have left, and they're stuck with cookie cutter monster tracks with no one in the seats. And that was before the Wuhan Wonderdog came to visit! They didn't learn from the IROC Series that folded. They're on the Final Glidepath Approach to *censored* City....!
