Oh, the joys of working under the dash. (It would be so nice to be 20 again...(maybe).
You got that right Joe. Sure was easier 30+ years ago! Now if I get in there, all upside-down, and get both arms up in there, I get stuck!

This is more of a Stoker Don channel update,,, and a V8 944 update.
The channel update has to do with some new equipment that should arrive in the next 2 weeks.
The 944 update has to do with our Big Brake Upgrade being shipped out. Should be here this week!

YAY!

Just curious Don. Considering all the "stuff" you've put into the car, how far ($) are you from Lambo territory? :D Being an avid gearhead myself, I know it's not the "pay-back" we're after, just the fun of doing it, and the reward of being able to actually use it.
Speaking of Lambos, I saw one in the Sig parking lot in new Hampshire, and parked a few spots down was one of them new fangled mid eng., G8 (?) corvettes. I swear, if you stacked them both on top of each other, they wouldn't be any higher than a couple Lays potato chips.

My Lambo, and Italian car in general, knowledge is old and limited. They are really cool and sound great, But there also very expensive and totally not meant to drive every day.

This is, of coarse, the old Porsche Vs. Italian car argument. For me the big difference is Porsche's are not as expensive and the are designed, built and tested to be everyday cars on top of being good sports cars.

Don't ever try this with an Italian sports car!

Enjoy the ride! :D

Not much of an update this week.

Did some testing of our new camera mounts and headset audio. I think this is an improvement but I hope we can do better. Let me know what you guys think.

Also, the Big Brake upgrade kit got here this week! Now I just need to find time to install it.

Time for the Sunday Drive!!!

I took the car out to get some gas and go to the store.

While we were having some fun, we discussed current gearing, sway bar adjustments, shock adjustments and 17" tires.

This video was done with my old Canon video camera. The old Canon just plain has better audio!

I might have time next weekend for the Big Brake install.

I like the sound also, but it doesn't come close to the chambered exhaust sound of that Challenger.

I saw that movie when it came out. It was great! 3 years later my sister got a 340 Duster that sounded great too.

It's a little hard to tell, but in person the LS sounds pretty amazing too. It's been pretty tough getting the sound on video though.

70-71 340 Duster, with a stickshift is a sweet machine. When IHRA ran NED in the 60s-early 70s, those Dusters were in my GTO class. (F/S). Power to weight, they were tough to beat. Even with the GTOs bigger motors. (But heavier cars).
Early 70s had some crazy car movies. We always re-paved the streets when we left the drive-in. Some of my favorites
Two lane Black-top, Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry, American Graffiti, and of course Vanishing Point. A bunch more were there, but those are my top favorites.

I have heard plenty of them in F body Camaros. I agree with the right exhaust they do sound good.

perhaps my favorite exhaust note of all is the idle of a Fox Body Mustang with Flowmaster 40's, especially with a healthy cam.

A week ago Friday I pulled the turbo pads, calipers and rotors off. Cleaned everything up and when I went to put the 996 caliper adaptor on, it didn't fit!
The mounting holes that the caliper bolts to on my car are 3.75" apart.

It turns out that the Big Brake kit is for Non Turbo cars with Non Turbo brakes. :what:

It looks like the simplest, cheapest solution is to put a set of Non Turbo spindles on the car. My used 944 parts Guy will sell them for 70 bucks a pair. That ain't bad considering the other Big Brake options would cost 3 times as much as what I paid for this kit.

Now we just have to hope that Non Turbo spindles don't cause any other problems. :o

Bummer. You would've thought it would've been listed in the application.
