Why don't we use this as a model???
"The early-phase technological immaturity of e-buses, coupled with the mid-life battery replacement need, often lead to frequent mechanical breakdowns and increased costs. Bus operators traditionally shoulder all these costs, but in Shenzhen, bus manufacturers provide a lifetime warranty for vehicles and batteries, because the bus operators required this at the procurement stage."
"Manufacturers are better positioned than bus operators to manage financial risks because they can continuously innovate battery technologies."

They do this on nearly 17,000 electric buses.

All paid for with government money just like here...

Think of all the lithium wasted... I like this one instead.
Edinburgh (Scotland) is a very windy place and gets a lot of it's power this way. They have had electric trams for nearly 100 years and now using the existing resource have updated the tram system at very little cost and minimal environmental impact (use what you have got). They even have floating wind farms. It's very cheap to run and has low fares and so people use it. Yes, there are places for this technology.

Find the land to put this in a developed city and you
will quickly be discouraged. These were put in many
years ago when there was minimal development.
The Northeast corridor in the US has this type of
transportation but is badly in need of refurbishment,
too much shared trackage with freight carriers.
If you want rails look to China they doubled there
trackage since 1995 , with many 200 mph tracks.

I bought some fence posts, put up a fence, enjoyed the fence for a decade. The fence posts rotted away and the fence fell over.
Turns out the trees died when cut to make the posts and the lifetime warranty was up before I got them.

I remember welded vinyl windows coming into the market and disappearing about every 5 years. Advertised as "just as good as" Andersen, etc. Saw many people get shafted when they failed as they are cheap junk. Hardly ever see a quality window installed here. Same old marketing stupidity. Just as good as.........
